Shirley Cook Glass & Fiber Artist

Shirley Cook Glass & Fiber Artist

I discovered Shirley Cook of Jumping Jack Glass & Flames and Fiber, a new artist I found at Bead & Button this past June.  Shirly, who was primarily a glass bead artist until she discovered fiber is pictured with her amazing work – go to her etsy site for more.  Her beads are wonderful too, but seriously, her fiber work is amazing.

At the Artisian’s Workshop Tuesday Night, Right Angle Weave Toggle & Bead Crochet

Monday, June 15th, 2009

I’ll be at The Artisian’s Workshop on Tuesday night, June 16th at 6:30 pm (thanks Mel) to go over the last part of the class that we didn’t get covered as well as we needed to – the toggle.  It’s a right angle weave toggle and it proved a little bit of a crabby patty at the end of the day (again a tired group).  Bead Crochet ladies feel free to join me to go over problems/show off your stuff-we’d all love to see what you’ve done.dsc01672

I’ve been thinking about getting together a bead crochet group to meet once a month, if anyone is interested let me know.  I live out in Porter county but Lake county can work too.  We could even alternate. Let me know you interest and/or ideas.

Tired, tired and more tired

Monday, June 15th, 2009

Returning from Bead & Button, I have done what many others have – tried to get back into my “old” routine while recovering.  I’ve talked to several people who stayed the entire week and either taught classes or took classes and we are all TIRED.   I agreed to teach an all day class on my new bracelet design, Renaissance Bracelet, on the next Saturday after the show (yesterday, June 13) and we all talked about how it took alot out us physically.

On the bracelet – the Renaissance bracelet kits are great, the class went very well (I thought) and I had the best class participants – Therese, Sue & Mel are returning students (we missed you Beth!!) (see all except Beth pictured on May 17 blog) and newcomer Beth from LaPorte way.
