Keshi Pearl Cuff Bracelet Kit, as seen in the December 2009 issue of Bead & Button. The full kit includes silky, golden highlighted Keshi Pearls in the signature Olivine, Olivine AB Swarovski crystals, 14K Gold-filled wire kit. Seed beads and my instructions as well. Sparkling and rich. Other colors are available and I will have pictures and more info up on my new etsy site.

Sterling Silver kits are also available (see the picture) with creamy white Keshi Pearls, using Swarovski round and bicone crysals in pinks and purple AB mixes. Other colors in all Sterling Silver also available on the Candice Sexton – etsy site.

Bead & Button starts for me tomorrow

I signed up for a Spiral Rope class at B&B that is tomorrow, Sunday, May 31. Like a crazy woman, I am driving up there for a 9 am class, and leaving for home after the class at 5:30. But I’m looking forward to taking this class so it’s all good.

I’m going up Wed. after work for the Teacher’s Reception and staying ’til Saturday. I can’t wait – its my vacation from the world!

NWIndiana Bead Society – you up for it at B&B?

It would be fun to get fellow NWIndiana beadworkers together at Bead & Button in Milwaukee in June (lampworkers, beadweavers, wire workers, PMC, polyclay, silversmiths, etc). I’m sure we could have an area designated for everyone to meet, get the word out via the web and on B&B’s site too. I’m an organizer by nature, so I’ll get going on planning it now.

Bead Club night at Artisian’s Workshop, Griffith, IN (Northwest Indiana)

Last evening (Tuesday, April 21st) was the monthly Bead Club meeting at Sue Wade’s Artisian’s Workshop in Griffith. I have been coming to these meetings for less than a year; I have no idea why I didn’t know about it sooner. You’d think someone who has been beading as long as I have would be more “plugged-in”… ha. I’m happy to say that I am participating more and feeling welcome amongst many different bead enthusiasts. I will start taking pictures and posting them here from both the bead club nights and the classes.
I talked with Therese & Patsy about bead crochet, and found out Therese sells her other work at craft shows. Patsy doesn’t sell the jewelry she makes, she just enjoys learning new techniques, mastering them and then learning more.
I will post pictures of my Intermediate Crochet Class’ projects next week. So many ladies are taking the 2nd step in their Bead Crocheting – it’s exciting to me to share this technique with them and I love teaching.
I have to say, I did tell Sue that her classes were my first teaching beadwork… I’ve taught before so it wasn’t as bad as it could have been, but I was very nervous the first class, not too much the second. I figure I’ll be really ready for Bead Fest in August & September.
