Hope to see you there!
Site update to wait
The site fix will have to wait, I hope you aren’t too put-off by the anti-navigation of it all. The navigation is on the far right, like most blogs, not like a website, and the back-forward buttons aren’t on there. The site at least is still working and I can post entries, so that is the important thing.
I tried to download a free version of Photoshop, but that isn’t loading either, so I will work on that tomorrow nite. I am preparing everything for next week at Bead Fest. I am teaching two classes on Bead Crochet and looking forward to meeting new people! Plus, I will post some pictures soon from my class I taught at The Artisian’s Workshop this past Saturday.
Website header lost
Well, I pressed the update button on WordPress because of the security issues posted, and – lo and behold!!! my headline totally dissappeared. First it was just the headings on the picture, now its the picture too. I was trying to take the photos off the right side – the kits that aren’t available yet that Steve had put on for me, but since I don’t have any website help and limited time to devote to it… You can see the problems.
I am almost ready to give up as I spent 4 hours tonight trying to get images and commerce going, but I don’t have a “manual” to this, so I have looked at coding as well as visual – again, I can’t get it things to work. I am working on it live too, a HUGE no-no, and I don’t have a back up since most of the files are stored offsite. What happens is it gets reformatted and I can’t see the code to bring it back. My frustration level is mounting too.
I am going to get a hard drive and do this myself I should not rely on others I am realizing. I looked at a few jewelry artist’s sites that use either Big Cartel or ETSY sites, both have their advantages. I also tried seeing which programs they use (www.katemckinnon.com) uses Big Cartel as best as I can tell; Kim Miles has an amazing blog cronicalling her travels across the western have of the US out of a travel trailer with her husband and dogs. She uses blogspot and etsyshop (http://kimmiles-takingthelongwayhome.blogspot.com). Gail Crosman Moore site uses Big Cartel (http://www.gailcrosmanmoore.com) and still others use etsy shops. Easier the better, and they all look professional.
Decisions, decisions. What a dissappointing night to say the least.
